Founder of the the Kuwait Center of the International
Theater Institute ( ITI ) and its permanent President.
Chairman of the Kuwait Federation of the Domestic Arts for many years since 1996.
Vice president of the Union of Arab Theater Artists,
Member of the Executive Bureauof the general Union of Arab Artists.
Representative of the Kuwait Artists at the Higher Committee of Theaters.
Member founder of the Federation of Domestic Theaters and was its Secretary between 1993 – 1994.
Elected for 3rd time as member of the Executive Council of the ITI Worldwide since the ITI 28 Congress ( Paris ), May 2002.
In addition to his official and administrative duties he directed many plays which met great popularity, both locally and in theArab Homeland.
He contributed many works of art outside of Kuwait, mainly his play " This Way Za'faran! " , which was directed for the Sharjah ( UAE) National Theater. He was and still is invited by the Arab Gulf Countries as well as by some Arab and US Universities to deliver lectures in the field of theater , in particular about the Kuwait theater Movement.
Mr. Al-Shatti won the following Awards:
• 1998The Honorary State Award for the Encouragement of Culture.
• The National Prize for the Best Theater Director.
• Award for the Best Theater techniques for his direction of " The Case Outside of the File ", at the Carthge Theaterical Days Festival ( Tunesia ) in 1989.
• Award for the Best Theater Presentation for his
direction of " The Handalah Trip", at the Bhagdad
( Iraq ) Theater Festival in 1985
• An Honorary medal to be awarded for the first time
in the Gulf Cooperation Council ( GCC ) , at the Bahrain Theater Festival.
• He also was honored at various GCC and Arab
theater events, mainly at the Cairo International
Theater Festival of Experimental Drama ( 1992 )
• The 6th Carthage Tournament at the Carthage Theater Days Festival , 1993.
• More than once at the Al- Sharjah Theater days Festival.
• The Jordan Theater Festival .
• The Mediterranean Theater Festival ( Italy ) 1998 ) .
• The 6th Theater Tournament of the GCC Theater Festival at Muscat ( Sultanate of Oman ).
• He is regularly invited to participate as a panel member or Head of panel at Arab theater events.
